Carpool with fixed location means that the user picks up and leaves the car at the same location. There were a total of 1166 carpool cars at fixed locations in Stockholm in December 2025.

Car sharing in cooperatives

In Stockholm there are a number of cooperatively run car sharing services. Most often you pay a membership fee and a contribution.

Stockholms bilpool is a member-owned car pool and Stockholm's oldest. You pay a membership fee and a financial contribution, which you get back when you leave. The cooperative form usually also means that members contribute with non-profit contributions to run the association.

In Vinterviken there are two cars that are shared by 20 households in the form of an economic association. You pay a monthly fee and a membership fee and are expected to take some responsibility for common tasks in the association.

Private car sharing via platform service

There are companies that help individuals share their cars. The company offers a platform for sharing and is responsible for driving license checks and insurance. The price is determined by the car owner and a portion of the booking fee goes to the company.

  • Fuel: diesel, gasoline, biofuel, electricity

Locations

  • GoMore has 640 cars on its platform for rental in the city of Stockholm (December 2025). Since these are privately owned cars, the number and availability of the cars varies
  • Also available in other cities as well as in Denmark, France, Spain and Finland
