Shop online

Be vigilant when buying goods online. Some e-commerce stores sell goods that contain substances that are dangerous to both the environment and your health.

As e-commerce has increased, more and more unscrupulous companies have entered the market. One such example is dropshipping stores. They look like regular online stores with nice websites and attractive products, but lack their own warehouse.

Harmful substances and cheap prices

  • Do not buy from dropshipping stores. If the seller or warehouse is located outside the EU, no one in the EU has reviewed the product before you receive it. Goods sold in countries outside the EU may contain chemical substances that are banned in Sweden and the EU.
  • Look at the price: Extremely cheap prices are a red flag. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. The risk is that the product may be significantly worse and contain harmful substances such as lead, cadmium and phthalates.
  • Look for contact information: A sign of a dropshipping store can be a lack of information, address, phone number and who is responsible for the company.
  • Look for the same images: A dropshipping store often has a smaller website with niche products and often uses images that many other dropshipping companies also use.
  • A tip is to contact customer service before making a purchase if you feel unsure. Serious companies often have a functioning customer service that wants to help the customer.
  • Choose well-known brands, especially when it comes to electronics such as headphones and chargers.
